Exploring Innovation and Play: A Journey with Denmark's Technical University
Seeking to ignite curiosity, foster creativity, and celebrate the joy of learning through play, we embarked on a fascinating exploration alongside the esteemed Technical University of Denmark DTU. This collaboration involved our team members Mikkel Velstrup, Magdalena Odrowaz-Zelezik, and Coco Murphy from the Retl Execution team. Together, they support our retl partners in presenting LEGO products in their most captivating form.
Mikkel, Magdalena, and Coco are integral to this innovation-driven quest, which exts beyond their regular tasks of supporting retl partners. The essence lies not only in finding innovative ideas but also in nurturing a culture where diversity fosters meaningful conversations that lead to groundbreaking solutions.
We believe the best ideas come from diverse perspectives, Mikkel asserts, highlighting the importance of collaboration and open dialogue within our team. We place great emphasis on listening to each other's views and embracing diverse viewpoints. This collaborative spirit is key to turning innovative concepts into reality.
Magdalena echoes this sentiment: It was striking how close many ideas were to being truly disruptive. Innovation often thrives when you step outside your own perspective and incorporate others' insights. Curiosity and imagination are fundamental, and we were thrilled DTU shared our belief in nurturing such thinking.
To delve deeper into the project's background, consider this: DTU presented four industry partners with challenges for over 800 Masters students to tackle within a three-week timeframe. These challenges required students from diverse academic backgrounds to form teams of up to eight members each.
Each group had numerous responsibilities, including lectures on their innovative solutions, feasibility studies, and QA sessions while developing physical experiences coupled with digital elements where appropriate.
As Mikkel reflects, We were delighted to see the passion these students brought to our challenge. Their ideas were a testament to their potential.
Magdalena adds insightful context: Our involvement was not merely an exercise; it offered valuable insights for both DTU students and LEGO Group employees alike. We sought ideas that might spark curiosity in our audience, driving innovation and enhancing the play experience.
The LEGO Group's challenge centered on creating innovative ways to engage children in playful experiences within our retl stores. The goal was to inspire the builders of tomorrow, fostering a deeper connection with play through both physical and digital means.
Notably, sustnability emerged as a prominent theme across several proposals. Magdalena prses this focus: It's inspiring to see such emphasis on sustnability among students' ideas.
The journey continues after the competition concludes:
We've selected an outstanding winner that combines creativity, innovation, and sustnability. The team behind it is invited to LEGO Group Headquarters in Billund for a unique experience, Coco reveals.
We eagerly awt further updates from this exciting collaboration between DTU and LEGO Group, a testament to how innovation can flourish when curiosity and diverse perspectives come together.
Let's build on the power of play.
